Charlene Underhill

Travel Consultant

My travel career began in January of 1970. Most of those years have been working in retail travel agencies, covering many aspects of travel from travel consultant, various management positions, and group development. I also worked as a cruise sales representative covering Manitoba and Saskatchewan which gave me a very different perspective of the industry, working with travel agents rather than the public, but the actual travel counselling is my true passion.

I love the interaction with my clients and being able to concentrate on this aspect and help them plan their dream vacation!

Over the years I have had the opportunity to travel to many countries of the world and enjoy discovering the people, the history and the culture.

I have also taken over 65 cruises with a variety of cruise lines and types of sailings, from mainstream cruise lines to river cruising and, for obvious reasons, while I handle all areas and types of travel arrangements, I have chosen to make this one area to specialize.

While I have enjoyed every place I have travelled, I do have a few favorite experiences:

  • Hot air ballooning over the spectacular landscape of Cappadocia
  • Exploring with a private guide some of the lesser known tombs in the Valley of the Kings
  • Viewing lions, elephants, giraffes, hippos and much more wildlife in Kruger National Park
  • Flight seeing from Queenstown to Milford Sound
  • Standing on the edge of the plateau, which rises 307 meters above sea level at what is considered the Northern-most point of Europe, Nordkapp, where the Atlantic Ocean meets the Arctic Ocean
  • Traversing the spectacular 16 locks on the 171 km Main-Danube canal which carries you 406 meters above sea level over the Continental Divide

One of my favorite quotes from Saint Augustine:

The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.
